Oliver Fisher of England becomes the youngest ever player from either side in the Walker Cup, being 16 years and 11 months exactly on the day of his first appearance. Remarkably, he came away from the match at the Chicago Golf Club with 3½ points, winning both his foursomes with Matthew Richardson as partner, winning his first singles and halving the second. Despite his fine efforts, GB&I lost the match 12½-11½.
