1966 Per-Ulrik Johansson is born in Uppsala, Sweden, going on to attend Arizona State University, where he was a member of the same NCAA Championship winning team as Phil Mickelson, and becoming 1989 Scandinavian Amateur Champion. He turned pro in 1990 and earned his European Tour card at his first visit to Q-School, becoming Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year in 1991. He has six victories on the European Tour, winning five times between 1991 and '97, and again in 2007 at the Russian Open.
Johansson was the first Swede to play on two European Ryder Cup teams in 1995 and 1997, on the winning side both times.
