2011 Luke Donald beat Martin Kaymer to become the WGC-Accenture Match Play Champion, but Kaymer, who had been playing for his fifth title in 11 starts going back to the 2010 USPGA Championship, moves to the World No.1 position with his runner-up spot, pushing Lee Westwood off the top after 17 weeks. Kaymer is the 14th man to ascend to the No. 1 spot, and the second German. Bernhard Langer was the first golfer to be the Official World No. 1 for the first three weeks of the Ranking's existence in April 1986.
