1928 Walter Hagen becomes the first recipient of the replica Claret Jug from the hands of the Prince of Wales, President of Royal St George's, after winning his third Open Championship - and second at Sandwich, where he had won in 1922 - by two shots from his professional arch-rival Gene Sarazen.
