2006 Mikhail TyuurinRussian cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin hits the longest golf shot in history, wearing a space suit, from the International Space Station 220 miles above the Earth. NASA estimated that the ball would travel some 1 million miles, before gravity caused it to fall back to Earth and burn up in the atmosphere. For the record, Tyurin used a six-iron, and sliced the shot.
