1963 Mickey Wright wins her own tournament, the Mickey Wright Invitational, for the third successive year since its creation as part of the LPGA Tour in 1961. She would also win it in 1966, for a total of four wins in the nine year history of the event. A record somewhat similar to Tiger Woods in his World Challenge event each December, which he has won five times in the 14 playings.
Wright was a dominant force in women's golf in the 50s and 60s, winning 13 major championships in the nine years from 1958 to 1966.
