Bill Haas pars 17 from water in the TOUR Championship playoff
September 2011

In the final round of the 2011 TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola, Bill Haas hits his third shot out of the water greenside on the par-4 17th hole, spins it to 2 feet and taps to save par. Minutes after this amazing shot, Haas would win $11.44m, taking both the TOUR Championship and the $10m. FedEx Cup bonus.

For the record, according to Golf Week writer James Acherbach, Haas used a Titleist Vokey Design Spin Milled 60-degree lob wedge. Haas customised it by having it bent to 59-degrees to make it a bit stronger. The sole bounce angle is 7 degrees, and the lie is 64 degrees.

Asked at the press conference if his right shoe and sock were soaked, Haas replied: "No, they're pretty waterproof. I can thank FootJoy for that one. Like I said, it wasn't a ton of water, I was up over the sole of my shoe, into the leather, but I didn't have to get submersed or anything like that." (For the record again, Haas was wearing the FootJoy FJ Icon.)
