Hot favourite Wisut targets sixth ASEAN PGA title

November 17, 2014

Thailand’s Wisut Artjanawat, the ASEAN PGA Tour’s most successful player, tees off as hot favourite tomorrow in the Borobudur Classic.

After a quiet season Wisut, who boasts a record five titles on the Tour, will be looking to get back on winning track in the US$60,000 event at Borobudur Golf Club.

The Borobudur Classic is a welcome new addition to the circuit and will be the eighth leg of the 2014/15 season.

Wisut: gunning for record sixth title

In January, Wisut claimed his second Sabah Masters title and fifth ASEAN PGA Tour trophy at Sutera Harbour Golf and Country Club.

The Thai star’s other victories are the Palembang Musi Championship in 2011 while in 2008 he claimed the Mercedes-Benz Masters Vietnam and the Mercedes-Benz Masters Philippines.

He also claimed the Order of Merit title in 2011.

He tees-off at 6.50am with top local player Andik Mauluddin.

The Borobudur Classic has been set up to support Magelang golf and tourism in Magelang.

By choosing Magelang as the location of the tournament, organisers hope that participants will also visit the Borobudur temple which is only about 20 kilometers from the golf course.
