About the Courses Course 1 (A) - Blackstone
The course weaves through a striking landscape of mature trees, lava rock, and expansive lakes and wetlands. Lava rock walls and village ruins created years ago remain as a testament to the site's past. As a premiere tournament venue, the Blackstone Course provides extensive spectator mounding for fans and thrilling world-class golf capable of challenging the world's greatest players.
Sandbelt Trails
Course 2 (B) - Sandbelt Trails
Patterned after the exceptionally strong courses of the Australian Sandbelt Region, this 7,325-yard course features large bunkers dominated by high sand flashes and crisp, thick lips rising above fairway and green surfaces.  Eucalyptus Trees evoke the Australian landscape while transitional bunkers blend into the native jungle, creating a natural and unique look over the courses gently rolling terrain.
Course 3 (C) - The Vintage Patterned after courses built at the turn of the century, this 7,363-yard course features a lay of the land routing with tree-lined fairways. The distinct, natural terrain is mixed with quirky features that utilize odd, sometimes geometric shapes, abrupt mounds, deep pot bunkers, square edges, and the occasional blind shot. Wicker basket pins and man-made features resemble the hand-work of days past, evoking a classic charm.
Course 4 (J) - Stepping Stone
This short par three course is a true pitch and putt course with dramatic islands of turf surrounded by large sand expanses. This course will play through, and seamlessly blend in with the native surrounds of lava rock and thick vegetation, allowing everyone from families, beginners, and pros to hone their short game in a visually stunning landscape.
Course 5 (D) - Lava Fields
While similar in many respects to the Blackstone Course, with its irregular lines of turf and wild bunkering, Lava Fields presents an expansive and open look,  featuring rolling waves of tall grasses in place of dense trees. Black rock and wild bunkering dominate the landscape like no other course in the world.
Course 6 (H) - Meadow Links
Based upon the traditional US Open courses of the eastern United States, this layout features lay-of-the land sensibilities and somewhat geometric shapes in both bunkering and fairway lines. Distinctive features such as the fabled "Church Pew" bunkers make for a unique look where grass-faced bunkers and native grasses give the course an open meadow feel with occasional clusters of trees. Large, lightning fast greens create difficult putting opportunities.
Course 7 (E) - Stone Quarry
This course showcases all the wild-ride features associated with Pete Dye's designs. Railroad tie sleepers, abrupt mounds, and moguls, long sandy waste bunkers, devilish sometimes small greens and rail-road car bridges all create a distinct look and playing experience.
Course 8 (I) - Double Pin
This collection of 18 par 3 holes incorporates a unique and distinct feature; two pins at each green. Greens are designed to offer two options; one easier and more assessable location and one much more difficult. An arboretum style landscape will provide an enjoyable atmosphere full of colorful trees and flowers, complimenting the blue skies and clean air of Haikou. Players of all levels will be able to play the course to what best suits their mood or skill. Families and beginners to tour pros will all find a quick round to compliment their days play or practice session.
Course 9 (F) - The Preserve
With a strong emphasis on beautiful landscaping based upon a backbone of dense palm plantings, this user-friendly course plays off a more modern design. Sculpted bunkering punctuates wide fairways leading to greens complexes where perimeter mounding feeds into the putting surfaces with modern conviction. Vivid landscaping with abundance of flowering shrubs and ground covers make a dominant image on this course. Palm trees add a welcome relief from the sun.
Course 10 (G) - Shadow Dunes
Bringing sand to the city, this course offers a unique environment of towering sand dunes and native vegetation found along the vast beaches of Hainan Island. This course features large undulating contours that feed into some of the largest greens at the resort. Close green to tee connections make Shadow Dunes an exceptionally walkable course, making for a quick round.
