Marc Warren another convert to Callaway

January 24, 2013

Former Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Marc Warren has added his name to the impressive line-up of Callaway Staff Professionals competing on the 2013 European Tour, after signing a three-year deal.

Marc, who will play a full complement of Callaway and Odyssey products and wear the company’s apparel, enjoyed great success as an amateur. He most-notably holed the winning putt at the 2001 Walker Cup at Sea Island, Georgia, USA, before turning pro and going on to become the Challenge Tour’s top player in 2005.

He then burst onto the European Tour in 2006 when he captured his maiden victory, the Scandinavian Masters. The following year, he went on to win the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles and the Omega Mission Hills World Cup in China – partnering fellow Callaway Staff Professional, Colin Montgomerie, to victory and achieving Scotland’s first ever success in the event.

Commenting on his new association with the brand, Marc said: “I used some Callaway product as an amateur, so I’ve got some history with the brand. Of all the products I tested after last season’s final tournament, the World Championship in Dubai, Callaway, for me, was the best so it was a pretty easy decision.”

Marc joins a long list of Callaway signings for the 2013 season that includes European Ryder Cup rookie and last season’s longest driver on Tour, Nicolas Colsaerts, and rising star of Swedish golf, Kristoffer Broberg, who, in only eight competitive starts on last year’s Challenge Tour, still managed to finish second in the Order of Merit to earn instant promotion to this season’s European Tour.

Neil Howie, President of Callaway Golf Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “We’re proud to have Marc as a member of Team Callaway. He has already tasted success on the European Tour and still knows how to win. We hope we can support him in achieving this goal through 2013.”

All Staff Professionals will benefit from Callaway’s award-winning equipment range including new additions… the RAZR Fit Xtreme, the longest fully adjustable driver the company has ever measured, the distance-enhancing X Hot family of products, and the revolutionary Odyssey Versa Putters.

In Marc's Callaway bag:

Driver: RAZR Fit Xtreme 9.5°
Fairways: RAZR Fit Xtreme 3FW 15°
Irons: X Utility Prototype 18°, 21°, X Forged 13
Wedges: X Forged
Putter: Odyssey Prototype #2
Golf Ball: HEX Black Tour

Warren was previously using Nike Golf equipment.
