Ecco and Gore-Tex - dry feet guaranteed in all weathers
September 7, 2010

With summer drawing to a close and the weather inevitably taking a turn for the worse, now is the perfect time to get kitted out with a pair of Ecco golf shoes to guarantee your feet stay dry and comfortable through the winter. Famous for their innovation in footwear performance and design, the Danish company are one of the only golf shoe brands that use Gore-Tex in the manufacturing process of their golf shoes.

The gold standard in long-lasting waterproof protection, Gore-Tex is used by Ecco to protect a number of their golf shoes. This state-of-the-art technology ensures the foot stays dry and comfortable in all weather conditions and is achieved by placing a thin membrane between the leather upper and lining, preventing external moisture from penetrating the shoe while allowing the foot’s natural moisture to escape.

The Ecco World Class GTX golf shoe, with Gore-Tex technology

Ecco currently use Gore-Tex protection in their stylish, handcrafted World Class GTX (pictured above), the timeless New Classic GTX and the sporty Casual Cool GTX models, ensuring that golfers of all ages have a golf shoe to suit their individual tastes. The shoes also offer the comfort of a 2 year waterproof guarantee.

Additional features include outstanding stability, a direct-injected PU and leather welt midsole and a water-repellant leather outsole with cushioning TPU in the heel area. Available in White/Chilli Red and classic Black/Black and White/White colour options at an RRP of £250.

New Classic GTX
Fusing traditional style with modern technology, the New Classic GTX features uppers of richly patterned “Lizard” and “Pinnacle” leathers with state-of-the-art Ecco comfort and performance. Outsoles engineered for enhanced stability feature soft TPU areas in the grip and traction zones. These work in tandem with a direct-injected midsole, integrated swing stabiliser and three-component insole unit to provide support during all phases of the swing. Catering for all tastes and complimenting all outfits, the ‘New Classic’ is available in White/Black/Black, White/Coffee/Cognac, Black/Black and an ultra stylish Coffee/Black/Coffee colour option at an RRP of £140.

Casual Cool II GTX

Available in striking colour combinations, the style combines Ecco’s “Lexi” street leather, textile ribbons and modern rubber detailing with all the benefits of advanced Ecco technologies, including, Gore-Tex waterproof technology and superior shock absorption. A sleek, single-density, transparent TPU outsole features a visible TPU foil colour-matched to the upper. Along with a low-profile, direct- injected midsole, a two-component leather and microfiber top-layer inlay sole on 3mm fiber foam provides extra-soft cushioning and grip.
