July 20, 2011

FootJoyAccording to a recent survey carried out by Sports Marketing Surveys Ltd* at the UK Club Pro Championships on the PGA National course at The Belfry, FootJoy, the market leading shoe and glove brand was by far the preferred choice of the field. FootJoy's dominance in both categories underlines the fact that the country's leading Club Pros recognise the quality, comfort, style and performance of FootJoy products just like their counterparts on Tour.

A total of 115 players placed their trust in FootJoy golf shoes; this represents an impressive 73.7% of the total field, with the nearest competitor on just 14.1%. The competitors at The Belfry were wearing a wide array of styles from FootJoy's comprehensive range, from the flagship FJ ICON™, the choice of elite Tour Professionals across the World, to the Tour Proven SYNR-G™, engineered to provide incredible stability and the FJ S PORT™, combining new levels of sports performance with contemporary styling. The very latest release from the market leading brand, the DryJoys Tour™ , was also on show, blending traditional styling with cutting-edge stability and superior comfort, synonymous with the DryJoys name.

FootJoy also lead the glove count for the field, with 42.3%, and together with sister brand Titleist, on 39.1%, are streets ahead of their nearest competitor with just 7.1%. The Club Pros joined leading Tour Professionals in choosing from the extensive FJ glove range including the outstanding performance of Pure Touch ® and the tried and tested #1 cabretta leather glove, StaSof®. Also evident amongst the competitors at The Belfry were the ever-popular SciFlex® and the new SPIDR²™, for golfers seeking maximum gripping power.

The newly crowned Glenmuir Club Professional Champion, strode to a 3 shot victory in FootJoy shoes, and will now be gain an exemption to tee it up in next year's BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, alongside FootJoy Ambassadors, Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood and Luke Donald to name just a few.

"This is a fantastic event that tests the skills of the UK's leading Club Pros. FootJoy focuses on providing the highest levels of comfort and performance and for such a high percentage of the field to put their trust in FootJoy shoes and gloves speaks volumes for the brand and the confidence that PGA Professionals have in our products" commented Richard Fryer, FootJoy's European Sales and Marketing Manager.
