Titleist the No.1 choice at PGA Professionals Championship
July 1, 2011

TitleistTitleist was the overwhelming favourite at the 2011 Glenmuir PGA Professionals Championship held on the PGA National course at The Belfry, as PGA Club Professionals, like their counterparts across worldwide professional tours, put their trust in Titleist. The world renowned Pro V1 and Pro V1x led the way for Titleist, clearly topping the golf ball count as 83% of the field put their trust in the feel and control of the #1 ball in golf. The outstanding performance of Titleist's award-winning product range also led to the brand topping the majority of equipment categories including drivers, fairway metals, utilities, iron sets and wedges respectively. Following the example set by Titleist golf ball loyalists such as Luke Donald and Lee Westwood, the champion trusted the legendary Pro V1x to top the leaderboard at the Belfry, gaining himself an exemption to the European Tours flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship, where he will tee up alongside some of the world's best players.

The majority of the field at the Belfry put their trust in the legendary Pro V1 franchise, with 130 players choosing either the Pro V1 or Pro V1x, compared to just 10 players for the nearest competitor. This mirrors Titleist's unrivalled popularity on tour, proving that the best players across all levels of the game prefer the feel and performance of Titleist balls.

The success of Titleist equipment continued throughout the bags of the club professionals, with the Tour proven 910 driver range helping Titleist to top the driver category with 59 players, compared to 29 for the nearest competitor. The 910D2 and 910D3 have been widely accepted by Titleist's tour players, leading the likes of Rory McIlroy, Matteo Manassero and Steve Stricker to victories. The count from The Belfry proves the precision and stability of Titleist metals are the choice of professionals throughout the ranks, with over 37% of the field choosing to put a Titleist driver into play. The 910 fairways also helped Titleist top the fairway metals count, with 32% of the field choosing Titleist, compared to 16.9% for the nearest competitor.

The feel and playability of Titleist's Tour proven iron range, including the MB, CB, AP1 and AP2 irons, also helped Titleist to top the count for irons sets. A total of 42.3% of the field put their trust in Titleist, almost three times the nearest competitor with 14.7% of the field, proving that better players prefer the feel and control of Titleist irons. Titleist Vokey Design wedges, designed by master craftsman Bob Vokey, topped the wedge category, accounting for over half of the field with 50.8% and over four times the nearest competitor with 11.9%.

A further win for the #1 ball in golf at The Belfry, as well as Titleist topping the count for drivers, fairways, utilities, irons, wedges, bags and hats, once again proves that better players opt for the unbeatable performance of Titleist.
