Yonex Ezone SD irons - straighter and further...
October 17, 2011

New for 2012, Yonex's SD (for Straighter Direction - Superior Distance) Technology increases moment of inertia (MOI) and optimises launch angles to give more distance and accuracy with an effortless ball strike, lowering your scores.

The new EZONE SD irons feature five key technologies:

1. Thin face technology with double undercut cavity construction

The secondary deep cavity immediately behind the clubface increases the area of maximum repulsion, for greater power and distance with control.

2. Composite head construction

The shock absorbing carbon graphite sheet behind the face maximises feel.
3. New sole construction

Minimises drag and maintains clubhead speed, ensuring a clean and powerful ball strike.

4. Combination Power Flow Weight System

This positions the weight in the optimum performance-enhancing position thoughout the set. Weight is positioned towards the heel in the long irons to reduce the tendency to slice and towards the toe in the short irons to reduce the tendency to hook.

5. The Nanospeed 200 Shaft

In addition, Yonex’ expertise in composite graphite technology has lead to the creation of the new Nanospeed 200 shaft. Incorporating Elastic Ti at the kick-point, it provides faster head speeds and reduced shaft deformation, for power and control through the ball strike.
