Glenmuir's new knitwear collection

July 15, 2013

Every golfer deserves to experience the outstanding performance and quality of merino knitwear at least once in their life - and Glenmuir's new collection of golfwear featuring the high-end wool is hard to beat.

This season, the Lanark, Scotland, company offers four merino sweaters for men and two for ladies, all of which are perfect for taking the chill off an early morning start, or late afternoon finish in Summer.

For men, Glenmuir introduces the new, stylish 'Aviemore' and 'Glencoe' sweaters, which blend merino with acrylic. The former has a double collar with contrast piping and button details on the v-neck, while the latter is available in an unfussy design with a zip neck.

Golfers seeking the ultimate in lightweight knitwear performance will enjoy the 'Wilkie' classic v-neck sweater and its sleeveless counterpart, 'Rankin'. These 100% merino classic fit jumpers are available in a huge range of colours - 20 and 19 versions respectively - and with embroidery available on all they make the perfect high-quality crested club or corporate garment.

For lady golfers, Glenmuir presents the v-neck 'Maya' and sleeveless 'Leona' merino knitwear, each coming in an extensive choice of 12 colours from the company's 2013 colour palettes of Roseline and Meridian.

All of the knitwear carries Glenmuir's signature 1891 branding, which is synonymous with quality and reinforces the company's long heritage and enduring appeal in golf.

Merino is one of the best wools around for regulating body temperature without the wearer becoming too hot, is naturally anti-bacterial and moisture-wicking, and has an excellent warmth to weight ratio.

Its small fibres are highly effective at trapping body heat, providing an insulating layer, while allowing water vapour to escape. Its lightweight characteristics make it perfect for the golf course, allowing the user to swing freely without feeling encumbered by heavier fabrics like lambswool.

Glenmuir is the preferred supplier of shirts and knitwear to the European Ryder Cup Team and a brand at the forefront of the golfwear industry since 1891. Its knitwear has been worn by every member of the European Ryder Cup Team since 1987 - proving its ability to deliver the very highest levels of style and performance.
