ECCO expands BIOM Zero range

August 14, 2014

Danish company ECCO – a leading manufacturer of innovative footwear – announces the expansion of its popular BIOM Zero range of minimalist NATURAL MOTION golf shoes built to deliver maximum flexibility and walking comfort on and beyond the golf course.

Now offered in two distinct patterns and an array of subtle and vibrant colours, BIOM Zero weighs less than 270 grams (approx. 9.5 ounces), making it the lightest golf shoe ever produced by ECCO. Its ground-hugging design incorporates two patented performance systems – NATURAL MOTION and the ECCO Dynamic Traction System (E-DTS).

“We launched BIOM Zero as a surprise limited-edition at the 2013 PGA Merchandise Show, where it garnered tremendous attention and sold out almost immediately,” says Michael Waack, Head of Global Golf at ECCO. “We’ve listened to requests from our global retail partners and their customers by releasing more styles, patterns and exciting colours.”

Like all ECCO shoes in the hybrid category the brand pioneered, BIOM Zero is built atop the E-DTS outsole with approximately 100 moulded traction bars and 800 traction angles. Constructed from TPU – a highly durable, wear-resistant material – these elements provide superb, Tour-quality grip.

Crafted using a highly-technical Direct-injection process, BIOM Zero also features a completely anatomical last that provides full-length foot support by relying on the body’s evolutionary system for absorbing the impact of each step.

Available as part of the Spring/Summer 2014 ECCO men’s golf collection, BIOM Zero boasts a full-leather, moisture-wicking Second Skin lining and the exclusive ECCO HYDROMAX™ tanned-in treatment for remarkable weather resistance.

ECCO golf shoes are worn in competition by Tour stars worldwide, including Fred Couples, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Bjorn, Thongchai Jaidee, Marcel Siem, Wu Ashun, Andreas Hartø and JB Hansen.
