FootJoy Limited Edition Augusta HYPERFLEX

FootJoy is celebrating the arrival of the year’s first Major with the launch of the highly exclusive Limited Edition Augusta-inspired HYPERFLEX™ footwear.



These unique shoes have been inspired by the prestigious Georgia tournament and feature an innovative design with different coloured left and right shoes.

FJ Brand Ambassador Hunter Mahan, who first wore HYPERFLEX at the 2014 Ryder Cup, will compete for a maiden Major victory wearing the Grey/Green & Lime footwear, which display the colours most associated with the legendary golf course that lies at the end of Magnolia Lane.

Brand new for 2015, HYPERFLEX is the most distinctive footwear in FJ history and offers the lightweight and flexible properties of an athletic sports shoe with the support, stability and comfort of golf footwear, courtesy of its highly innovative FlexGrid™ 2.0 exoskeleton.

The FlexGrid 2.0 upper was inspired by the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge in Boston, Massachusetts and is strong enough to keep the foot from rolling laterally during the golf swing but also conforms to the foot, allowing it to flex.

The base layer that supports the exoskeleton is a lightweight and waterproof mesh which allows for maximum air-flow and gives the comfort that one would expect from an athletic shoe. Features, such as the Optimised Performance Stabiliser (O.P.S.™), which provides support and motion control towards the heel, and the cushioning Next Evolutionary Outsole (N.E.O™) give the additional support of a high-performance golf shoe.
