Stewart Golf rewarded at Munich

Award-winning electric trolley manufacturer Stewart Golf has been recognised at the Golf Europe Product Award at the Munich Golf Show.

Stewart Golf's highly coveted F1 Lithium was nominated alongside fierce competition, in the caddy category for outstanding achievements in product design and development in 2008 by Golf Europe, the continent's largest trade-only golf show.

This award is the latest in a series of successes for the company, as they recently won the Citizen and Gloucester Echo Business Award for design excellence.

Mark Stewart, director of sales and marketing, said: "We were delighted to be nominated for the award and to be given the title of outstanding achievements in product design and development for 2008 by the specially selected jury of experts from the German golf industry is fantastic.

"To win the Business Awards in the same week as Golf Europe was just a dream come true. It is great that all the hard work that the team has put in is being rewarded."

The F1 Lithium is a revolutionary electric trolley which folds in half in a single motion for easy storage at home or in the car.

The lithium battery is only one third of the size of a standard trolley battery and more than 80 per cent lighter. Weighing in at just 14kg including the battery and at just 66cm wide by 47cm high and 31.9cm deep, when folded, it is one of the easiest trolleys on the market to store and use.

It comes with a customised F1 golf bag, which has an integrated rigid structure and locking mechanism that enable the bag to be locked securely into the base of the F1 Lithium. The handle folds into the rear pocket of the custom-made bag, and when depressed unlocks the bag from the base.

The bag itself has 14 individual full-length dividers and 12 pockets including a dry pocket and a velvet-lined valuables pocket.
