They say: The White Hot Pro Women's line is specifically designed for women with the help of the world's top lady Tour pros who have tried, tested and proven the putters in competition. They feature the most consistent, best feeling insert Odyssey has ever created.

Softer aesthetics and ideal head weights give the lady golfer everything she needs to drain more putts.

The line features a new and improved White Hot insert for a more consistent sound, feel and performance across the striking surface thanks to a new laser milling cutting process. The heavier putter heads enhance feel and control, and the brushed steel finish creates a great look at address.

I say: The Odyssey 2-Ball is the best-selling putter of all time, so it is no surprise that it keeps being reinvented season after season and kept in the stock line-up.

But it's lovely to see that for 2014 for the first time I believe (correct me if I'm wrong Odyssey) the 2-Ball has actually been engineered specifically for women, with its own unique styling and set of weights that are ideally suited to the shorter putter shaft lengths for the lady golfer. I instantly loved the aesthetics of this putter. It comes in a plush soft leather headcover styled with pink and silver detailing, with a clever zip pocket on the outside that hides the additional weight and adjustable tool that allows you to alter the weight of the putter in the head, to lighter or heavier, thus affecting your control and feel. Although a small and simple change to make, this really does make a remarkable difference to the weight of the putter and is a great idea for being able to alter the speed the ball leaves the putterface when the greens change from slow in the winter to faster in the summer. I've always been a fan of the ingenious alignment aid the 2-Ball putter gives you - it really is the easiest and the best putter to aim on the market, and although other manufacturers have come and tried to do a similar thing, nothing is quite a simple as this concept. The finish of the putter, a brushed silver, is spot-on too, as it looks classy without giving you that awful glare in bright light.

Any downsides? Well perhaps one thing Odyssey could consider for the future would be a range of different grip options. As the standard putter grip on the 2-Ball Pro is pretty basic and it might have been nice to have a softer Winn grip for our feminine hands, or even a choice of different grips sizes/widths. Beside from that I really can't fault this putter and if you are still in doubt over your choice Odyssey has just launched a clever App - the eyeFit Putter Selector - that will take you through a simple series of questions that will help you make your selection.
