Putta Pal- New Golf Product Aims To Take The Pain Out Of Putting
by Carly Frost
April 23, 2013

In a market dominated by the big players, the golf accessories market rarely sees a new product developed by golfers for golfers. However, with the Putta Pal, now sold exclusively through Masters Golf, this is exactly what has happened.

The Putta Pal, originally an invention idea of Paul Ryder has been over three years in the making and with the support of Innovate Product Design and Masters Golf is now on the market hoping to help golfers clean up their putting performance.

Paul Ryder, a keen golfer was on his way back from a game when he realised that he had misplaced his putter cover. As a temporary solution, Paul decided to use a fabric pouch that he had found at home to cover his putter. The rest as they say is history...The concept evolved to incorporate multiple functionalities, including a ball marker and a cleaning cloth. With the assistance of Innovate Product Design, Paul was able to research and refine the concept before being able to approach Bristol-based golf product distributor Masters Golf who in turn developed the prototype and from there began to commercialise the product.

The journey for Paul from idea to market has taken a little over three years but Paul now hopes to be able to see his idea helping golfers worldwide. Of the Putta Pal, Paul says "My goal was to have a versatile accessory readily to hand that allowed me to clean my golf ball and incorporate my ball marker in preparation for putting. I also wanted to be able to protect my putter in the golf bag. It had to be small enough to put in your pocket as you putt. I did not want to have to go back to my bag to clean the golf ball. Putta Pal offers this combination of ball cleaning, ball marker access, and putter head protection."

The Putta Pal concept was developed with the assistance of Innovate Product Design who specialise in the development of new invention ideas. Jay Short, Sports and Fitness Sector Specialist at Innovate had this to say of the Putta Pal: "We are always pleased to see out client's ideas hit the market. It has been a long road for Paul with his product, but it is great to see him now start to reap the rewards. The great thing about the Putta Pal is that it is so simple, which can be a real advantage when trying to convince a company to take a gamble on your product. Masters Golf seems to have been an ideal fit for Paul and we wish him the greatest continued success for the product."

You can now buy the Putta Pal exclusively through Masters Golf ( www.mastergolf.co.uk ) who offer a diverse range of golfing products on sale in the UK and Europe.
