September 28, 2011

On Saturday, 17th September Niclas Fasth launched A1 Golf Centre's new synthetic green, installed and designed by Southwest Greens.

Professional Golfer, Niclas Fasth, PGA Tour and Ryder Cup winner held a short game clinic at A1 Golf Centre in London to launch the new synthetic short game facility by Southwest Greens. Those also present for the official launch were Ivan Norman, the Proprietor of the A1 Golf Centre and Warren Bailey, Managing Director of Southwest Greens UK.

A1 Golf Centre was established in 1991 and has had a major revamp over the last few years, including the Southwest Greens short game facility, multi-shot 10 target green range, N1 Golf Academy coaching scheme and 18 hole adventure golf. Providing a complete golf facility for the experienced through to the first timer.

Southwest Greens by Nicklaus Design constructed the new short game green. Covering an area of 460m2 this professional synthetic sand fill system incorporates 9 holes, a large bunker, several chipping zones, natural gradient and sweeping curves with the overall benefit of floodlights. This specialist design is unique in its ability to mimic the responsive bounce of a golf ball on finest golf courses. The construction used over 500 tonnes of material and professional synthetic turf shipped from Southwest Greens, USA.

At the opening Ivan Norman said "Warren and his team at Southwest Greens provided a professional service, understanding exactly what I was looking for and I am delighted with the finished product"

"I am very proud of our achievement at A1; Southwest Greens by Nicklaus design have once again delivered a stunning green, which performs superbly well in all weather conditions. We worked closely with Ivan at A1 listening to his desire for a practice green that would stand out from the crowd and provide the best facility for the golfer wishing to improve both their putting and chipping. I understand the N1 Golf Pros are very excited to have this practice green at their disposal for coaching and I envisage a lot of interest for membership" said Warren Bailey, Managing Director of Southwest Greens UK

The new golf green is open 9am to 9pm during the summer and 10am - 7pm during the winter. £5 per hour or £98 per annum (for unlimited use) A1 Golf Centre is located adjacent to the A1 motorway and within 5 minutes of the M25 Junction.

Southwest Green installs professional golf greens for putting and chipping for commercial and residential. Nicklaus design optional.
