FootJoy extends partnership with English National teams
May 20, 2011

FootJoy will continue its relationship with the national squads at the English Golf Union; highlighting its support of the game and wide appeal across all levels of the sport from leading tour professionals to the stars of tomorrow. FootJoy will supply all 2011 EGU squad members with a pair of market-leading FJ ICON™ MyJoys shoes, as well as premium FJ Performance Light Rain Jackets and Light Rain Trousers.

The support of FootJoy has become integral to the development of young players, as an ever-increasing worldwide schedule has added to the demands on elite amateur players. Quality equipment and apparel is necessary to compete at the highest level, with players experiencing a variety of conditions throughout the season.

In the FJ ICON™ MyJoys, which combines full-grain and exquisite calf skin leathers, the England team will fashion the same footwear as former EGU members and current FJ ambassadors Ross Fisher, Lee Westwood and WGC Accenture World Matchplay champion, Luke Donald. While the comfort of the FJ Performance Light Rain Jacket and Light Rain Trousers, which feature the Lightweight Sta-Dry System, provides complete waterproof and windproof protection in all weather conditions.

"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the English Golf Union and lend our support to the future success of golf in this country," commented Russell Lawes, FootJoy's European Marketing Manager. "There is a talented crop of English golfers playing professionally on the European Tour who came through the EGU system with FootJoy, which highlights the importance of our alignment with the English Golf Union in supporting its development of young players."

FootJoy's commitment to amateur golf is further underlined by its continued co-sponsorship of the EGU Order of Merit, which identifies the country's best player over the course of the golfing season. Past winners include 2-time champion and FootJoy ambassador Chris Wood.

Whether it is the all-round excellence of the FJ ICON™ , the reliability and consistent performance of the new DryJoys Tour™ , or the comfort of the FJ Sport, FootJoy remains the overwhelming favourite for golfers of all abilities around the world.
