Albatross Golf Resort set for the Prague Golf Masters
June 20, 2012

Albatross Golf Resort is set to welcome the leading Ladies European Tour players this week for the second edition of the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters.

The 250,000 Euro event, which takes place from June 22-24, will see 126 of the leading players from the Ladies' European Tour taking part including eight Czech women.

The field features some of the biggest names in women's professional golf including multiple tour winners Helen Alfredsson, Trish Johnson, Laura Davies, Gwladys Nocera, Lee-Anne Pace, Becky Brewerton and young English star Melissa Reid.

In a sign of the growing strength of Czech golf, professionals Klara Spilkova, Barbora Barcalova, Daniela Prorokova and Denisa Sobotkova will take part along with leading amateurs Karolina Vlckova, who made the cut last week in Slovakia in a strong professional field, Katerina Krasova, Marie Lunackova and Kristyna Pavlickova.

Albatross, which is located just outside the country's capital Prague, was recently ranked the No. 1 course in the Czech Republic by Golf Digest.

Final preparations are being made for the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters and the course is in excellent shape with the recent warm weather helping the greenkeeping team. Course Manager Jiri Dvorak, said: "Albatross is a young course which is only in its third year of operation so it is a big commitment for us to host a tour event. We are working closely with the Ladies' European Tour to ensure that the playing surfaces meet the highest standards and that every detail is taken care of. Last year we received some fantastic feedback from the tour officials which was welcome recognition for our greenkeeping team. We were highly motivated to improve upon last year and have worked hard to ensure the course is in top class condition for the tournament."

Albatross´ Owner Jiri Simane added: "I am very excited about welcoming the Ladies' European Tour event to Albatross for the second time. I am delighted that last year´s tournament was such a success and that we managed to live up to the expectations of the players, officials and visitors alike. I am confident that we will deliver an equally successful event this year. It is essential for the Czech Republic as a golf destination to host professional tournaments to prove that the country is serious about building its image as a golf destination. We want to play our part in that here at Albatross."

Tickets for the Raiffesisenbank Prague Golf Masters are available in advance for 150 - 250 CZK (£4.50 - £8) per day, a 50% discount on prices at the gate.  Entry is free for under 15's. Albatross will be closed for visitor play until June 24.
