Rockliffe Hall releases new member benefits and winter green fees

October 28, 2014

The region's leading golf club, famed for attracting a host of Ryder Cup captains, has updated its membership benefits and released its winter green fees.

Rockliffe Hall in Hurworth, near Darlington, has become world renowned for hosting the European Tour English Senior Open for the last two years, attracting international names and Ryder Cup stars such as Ian Woosnam, Mark James and Sam Torrance.

The course is recognised as one of the best in the UK and is the only one in the North East to benefit from no winter greens thanks to seven miles of exceptional under-course drainage. Golfers can also choose the length of the course they wish to play as there are five individual tee positions.

The new membership package*has a range of added benefits including: -

•  Annual complimentary swing checks with one of Rockliffe Hall's four PGA professionals

•  Complimentary 4-ball for each member and three guests

•  Reduced guest green fees and buggy rates

•  Entry into weekly and monthly tournaments

•  20% discount across Rockliffe Hall's three restaurants and bars as well as 10% discount at the Pro Shop and a member hotel rate available for four stays throughout the year

•  Easy online booking

New winter green fees have also been announced starting from £35 per person for 18 holes, a bacon roll and tea/coffee on arrival.

Head PGA professional at Rockliffe Hall, Jon Stacey, said: “Our enhanced package for members reflects demand in the market and feedback from golfers. Since holding the European Tour English Senior Open, we have seen a significant increase in member numbers and new enquiries. We wanted to make sure our offering was competitive yet reflected what Rockliffe Hall is all about- great service, an exceptional course and the ability to exceed expectations.”

Rockliffe Hall's world-class golf course is recognised as one of the best in Europe and was strategically designed by top golf architect, Marc Westonborg from Hawtrees. Thanks to its engineering and construction, the course remains open all year round and benefits from no winter greens.

As well as holding high profile tournaments and golf days, Rockliffe Hall is also home to a highly-regarded golf academy, offering coaching from respected PGA golf professionals.

In August, around 10,000 spectators visited the region's biggest golf tournament of the last few years to see former Ryder Cup captains Ian Woosnam OBE, Sam Torrance OBE and Mark James take to Rockliffe Hall's golf course for the European Senior Tour English Senior Open.   Argentinian, Cesar Monasterio, was the final winner with England's Barry Lane and Scotland's Andrew Oldcorn tied in second place .
