Golfclub Pfalz joins Troon

February 10, 2016

Troon, the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing is delighted to announce its initial contract in Germany at Golfclub Pfalz, Neustadt.

Representing its International division's first new agreement for 2016, Troon gets the year off to a great start, particularly given the brand recognition it will bring in such a large golf market.

In the celebrated "Perle der Pfalz" wine region, located between Neustadt and the Cathedral City of Speyer in South West Germany, Golfclub Pfalz stretches out over 6,638 yards through natural woodland. The course typifies the local golf landscape, surrounded by forests, meadows and fields with open fairways and strategic charm ensuring a welcoming golf experience. The course was established in 1970 and Troon have been tasked with assisting the team in elevating the golf course conditioning to a level comparable to other Troon facilities around the world, enhancing the enjoyment for the members, as well as local and international guests.

“We're delighted to be working with such a superb venue like Golfclub Pfalz which is committed to providing the best experience for its members,” commented Bruce Glasco, Chief Operating Officer, Managing Director, Troon International Division.

“It's an exciting time for the Club and this initiative provides a fantastic opportunity to enhance the course for the strong membership base. We are looking for our initial work to lay the foundation for improvements that will carry the Club forwards for many years to come.

“Welcoming Golfclub Pfalz to the Troon portfolio, our first course in Germany, is extremely gratifying. Much like our success in other new regions for us such as France and Azerbaijan, our selection demonstrates how our international reputation transcends borders.”

The Club provides over 1,000 members with regular competitions and tournaments in an inclusive atmosphere, complemented by the 100-seater Dining room and a spacious terrace with views across the closing holes. In addition, the club forms a focal point for the local area with its progressive PGA Teaching staff and outreach Junior golf programs.

“Troon has had a longstanding privileged position in Europe,” commented Michael Loeffler, Golfclub Pfalz President. “We wanted to elevate the standards of our course and Troon were the only choice for us.”

Joining his President in his praise from the market-leaders, Course Committee member Axel Rohr continued: “Troon and its facilities consistently rank amongst the top courses across the globe, collecting awards year-after-year and we knew they were the right choice to do the same for Golfclub Pfalz. We're excited for this next stage in the club's development and the enhancements which are set to come.”

Under the guidance of Simon Doyle, Troon's Director of Agronomy for Europe, the course and its greenkeeping team will develop the overall golf presentation, enhancing year-round playability and improving turf conditioning across the board.

The selection of Troon to manage the golf course reaffirms the market-leader's ability to deliver worldwide, meeting the diverse requirements of each and every region. German golfers have long experienced Troon Golf-facilities during their travels to some of the newest golfing regions, including the United Arab Emirates as well as more established regions such as Spain and the UK. Troon are now set to deliver the same exceptional standards in Germany.

The agreement with Golfclub Pfalz also demonstrates Troon's ability to offer a diverse array of services through bespoke contracts, meeting the needs of every ownership and, subsequently, its members and guests with unerring attention to detail and quality.
