New Jersey is termed the Golden State and it just happens to be home to wide variety of golf courses. Whether you’ve played most of the top courses back home or you just fancy a change, next time you head over the pond be sure to play some of our favourite Jersey courses. Just grab your clubs and golf clothes and you’ll be teeing off in no time.
Pine Valley Golf Club
Pine Valley is now known as the Trump National Golf Club (Philadelphia) despite its location in southern New Jersey. Having received numerous accolades in the past and present, and built on an old ski resort the views are certainly some to write home about.
Liberty National has cemented its place as a favourite amongst American golfers, due to its unique location. While striking your ball onto the green you can gaze at the Stature of Liberty which is less than a thousand yards from the 18th green. The backdrop of Manhattan is absolutely awe-inspiring.
Galloping Hill Golf Course
Known simply as The Hill due to its position in the rolling hills and valleys of Kenilworth this is a great stop for beginners and professionals alike. A new club house has just been built for the experienced to reminisce over former glories, while for those just starting out on their golf adventure there’s now a learning centre where players can use state of the art video instruction to help improve their game.
Knoll West Country Club
Located in Parsippany, the par 70 semi-private course is truly impressive. Being a country club, there is the added air of elegance and grandeur when teeing off for a round.
Old Orchard Country Club
Eatontown is home to the Old Orchard Country Club, an 18 hole semi-private golf course. Here the average par is 72, while there are plenty of bunkers to keep you concentrating on your game – 64 in fact. If you don’t like time in the sand you better get practising before a visit here!
