The Englishman has already claimed the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship this year and returns to the Staysure Tour in search of his second win of the season.

A victory for the two-time Senior Major champion would see him write his name in the history books alongside the late Peter Thomson as the second player to win the PGA Seniors Championship and the Seniors PGA Championship.

Last week's appearance at The Senior Open Presented by Rolex was his first appearance on British soil since he won the Scottish Senior Open last year. Now, the five-time Staysure Tour winner is eager to show his best as the Staysure PGA Seniors Championships celebrates its 60 th anniversary.

“The Staysure PGA Senior Championship – it says everything really. It's a big event and it's great to be back on the Staysure Tour, and at London Golf Club it couldn't be much better really,” he said.

“We're really grateful for everything Staysure have done for the Tour. It's great to come here and support this event, and as Staysure are the title sponsor it is important that some of the top players support the Championship.

“The season has been going well. I've played well and I've putted really well. When I haven't featured it has been my putter which has let me down a little bit. You have to work hard at any level of the game and I keep doing that.

“It's not easy combining playing in America and Europe but if I can support the Staysure Tour as much as I can then I will do.”

Broadhurst is joined at London Golf Club by fellow Senior PGA Championship victors Roger Chapman and Colin Montgomerie, who could also join Thomson in the history books. The trio played the Old Course at St Andrews last week and now turn their attention to the International Course for this week's test.

“After last week at St Andrews where we got a little bit wet and it was a bit blustery on the Sunday it's nice to be here with relatively calm sunny conditions,” added Broadhurst. “If it stays like this I'm sure it will be a great week and the scoring should be good.

“I played the course a few years ago, so I've only played it the once. From what I remember about the International Course is it's a good track with a few tricky holes and it should be good fun this week.”

“The weather is set to be pretty good. It's quite nice to come back and play in some sunshine in the UK, so I'm looking forward to a good week.”

The star-studded field, which also includes the victorious 2014 Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley, tee off on Thursday July 2 for four days of action. Entry to the tournament is free of charge, with a £10 daily car parking charge in aid of Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
