Cambia Portland Classic R2 - Mel Reid in the lead at 12-under
Mel Reid. (Nick Potts/PA)

Mel Reid shot a 7-under 65 Saturday to take a two-shot lead over defending champion Hannah Green into the final round of the Cambria Portland Classic.

Reid, who has yet to win on the LPGA Tour, has a 12-under total in the shortened event.

โ€œPut myself in a great position, a position that everyone wants to be in, so I'm excited for the opportunity tomorrow,โ€ said Reid. โ€œJust keep doing the same thing and see where tomorrow afternoon takes us.โ€

Reid is in position for her first win after tying for seventh at the ANA Inspiration last week.

โ€œI felt like I hit it really good last week, so kind of took that momentum going into this week. I think it did me a favor having an extra day off. I was pretty tired from last week.โ€

Overnight co-leader Green closed her round with a long birdie putt on the 18th for a 68.

โ€œIt was definitely slower than yesterday. โ€œI got off to such a great start, so always hard to back up a low round. Really happy with my last putt. Holed a long bomb there, so gives me another positive momentum for tomorrow. Hopefully, I can get the pace of the greens a little bit better and give myself opportunities.โ€

Her co-leader after the first round, Cydney Clanton , dropped eleven strokes back to 1-under after a 77.
