The European Challenge Tour will return to South Africa for three co-sanctioned events with the Sunshine Tour to kick off the 2021 Road to Mallorca.

Following a successful maiden voyage to South Africa in 2020, the Challenge Tour will again co-sanction the Dimension Data Pro-Am, the Cape Town Open and the Limpopo Championship in 2021, providing additional playing opportunities to its members at the beginning of the year.

The Dimension Data Pro-Am, won by South Africaโ€™s Christiaan Bezuidenhout in 2020, will take place at Fancourt Golf Estate, George, from February 11-14 where each player will be paired with an amateur and play one round on each of the venueโ€™s three courses - The Links, Montagu and Outeniqua โ€“ before a third round cut leaves the leading players to compete for the title in the final round.

A week later, the Cape Town Open will return to King David Mowbray Golf Club and Royal Cape Golf Club from February 18-21. Swedenโ€™s Anton Karlsson secured his first Challenge Tour victory in the 2020 edition of the event against the iconic backdrop of Cape Townโ€™s Table Mountain.

The South African Swing will conclude with the Limpopo Championship, won by South Africaโ€™s JC Ritchie in 2020, from February 25-28 at Euphoria Golf Club and Koro Creek Golf Club as members of both Tours compete for early season Road to Mallorca Rankings points.

Jamie Hodges, Head of Challenge Tour, said: โ€œWe enjoyed a very successful first visit to South Africa earlier this year and I am thrilled to be able to provide our players with the opportunity to tee it up alongside the stars of the Sunshine Tour again in 2021.

โ€œWe feel it is important to provide our members with playing opportunities early in the year and being able to co-host events in South Africa truly shows the global nature of our Tour.

โ€œI must thank Thomas Abt and the Sunshine Tour for allowing us to co-sanction the Dimension Data Pro-Am, the Cape Town Open and the Limpopo Championship for the second time. We have a fantastic relationship with the Sunshine Tour and we are looking forward to working together again in 2021 for the benefit of both of our Memberships.โ€

Thomas Abt, Sunshine Tour Commissioner, said: โ€œWeโ€™re delighted to welcome back the Challenge Tour to South African fairways. The Sunshine Tour is a tour of opportunity and weโ€™re focused on providing our members with as many opportunities as possible to realise our vision that GreatnessBeginsHere. The partnership with the Challenge Tour provides us with yet another level in the game whereby our members can gain access onto the greater international stage.โ€ The full Road to Mallorca 2021 International Schedule will be revealed early next year.
