The victorious 2010 Ryder Cup Captain made his debut at the Championship last year and set the International Course record in his opening round at London Golf Club, en route to a top 15 finish.

Montgomerie will join a star-studded field at the third of six British events on the 2019 Staysure Tour International Schedule, and the second of consecutive English tournaments as the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship follows The Senior Open Presented by Rolex once again.

“I am thoroughly looking forward to returning to London Golf Club for the Staysure PGA Seniors Championships,” said Montgomerie.

“The tournament is positioned in a great place on the schedule, allowing players like myself, who only manage to play on European soil a couple of times a year, to play back-to-back weeks on the Staysure Tour at the height of the British summer.

“Last year’s hot weather caused the conditions to be quite testing, but it was an enjoyable challenge, and I look forward to playing on the International Course again.”

The two-time Staysure Tour Order of Merit winner will join defending champion Philip Golding and a host of Staysure Tour stars plus the leading 15 players from the 2019 Senior PGA Professional Championship as London Golf Club welcomes the 61st edition of the event.

“It was a fantastic week in Kent with a strong field last year, so hopefully the field will be just as strong, if not stronger for this season’s test,” said Montgomerie.

Ryan Howsam, Chairman of Staysure, said: “During our inaugural season sponsoring the Tour, I was lucky enough to play with Colin in 2018 Staysure PGA Seniors Championship Alliance Pro-Am and it was a truly special experience playing alongside him and Paul McGinley. Both of them were fantastic, not to mention Colin’s opening 63.

“To have a player of Colin’s status adds real class and gravitas to an already stellar field, among which we also welcome back defending Champion Phil Golding. 2019 promises to be even better.”
