Four of Englandโ€™s finest golf courses have been named as venues for the Monday Qualifying event for The 2020 Senior Open Presented by Rolex.

Hopefuls will compete for a minimum of 24 spots at Burhill Golf Club, The Berkshire Golf Club, Camberley Heath Golf Club and Foxhills Country Club & Resort in their bid to take part in Europeโ€™s only Senior Major, when it returns to the Old Course at Sunningdale Golf Club from July 23-26, 2020. The same four venues hosted Qualifying for the 2015 Senior Open at the iconic venue.

A record 591 players entered Qualifying events in 2018, while 525 golfers fought for 49 places at this yearโ€™s Senior Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

Burhillโ€™s New Course was opened in 2001 and hosted Regional Qualifying for The 148th Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

The Red Course at The Berkshire was designed by Herbet Fowler in 1928 and has previously hosted the English Amateur Championship. It was utilised as one of the qualifying venues for The Senior Open in 2009 โ€“ the first to be played at Sunningdale. It hosts the annual Berkshire Trophy โ€“ one of the UKโ€™s major amateur competitions, boasting a roll of honour which includes Nick Faldo and Sandy Lyle.

Camberley Heath is a Harry Clot classic, set in 135 acres of Surrey heathland, which celebrated its Centenary Year in 2013. It previously hosted Regional Qualifying for The Open and this will be the third time it will have staged Senior Open Qualifying.

Foxhills will host Qualifying for the second time, on the Bernard Hunt Course named after the former Ryder Cup player and captain. It hosted the Playersโ€™ Championship of Europe twice and three editions of European Tour Qualifying School, notably in 1977 when future two-time Major Champion Sandy Lyle won.

David Williams, Tournament Director of The Senior Open Presented by Rolex, said:

โ€œIt is fitting that Europeโ€™s only Senior Major holds qualifying at venues as fine as these. They will demand shot-making and scoring ability as they play a pivotal role in completing the elite field for this great Championship.โ€

Monday Qualifying will take place at these venues on Monday July 20, 2020. Entry forms for The 2020 Senior Open Presented by Rolex will be available in the new year.
