Round 1, Round 2

Lexi Thompson finished birdie-par-eagle on her last three holes Sunday, and made a 20-foot putt for eagle at the 18th to win the $1.75 million event on the Bay Course at Seaview by one stroke over Jeongeun Lee6.

"I just really tried to find the positives in it because I knew coming in there were birdie holes," Thompson said. "If I let it affect me, I wouldn't have finished the way I did. At that point I didn't know where I was, position-wise. I kind of thought I was behind for sure, a few back."

This was Thompson's 11th career LPGA Tour victory - her first since last year's season-ending CME Group Tour Championship., and extended her streak to seven straight years with at least one win on the tour.

Thompson, who made her professional debut in this event in 2010 at the age of 15, set up her eagle at the 18th by needing to hit a 190-yard second shot with the wind at her back, to get it to the front of the green.

"With a jumper lie and the wind, I ended up hitting a pitching wedge, which is my 135 club," she said. "It ended up landing 50 yards short and rolling up there."

On the putt, she said, "I got chills, like my hair on my arms was sticking up once I made it."

Lee6, last week's U.S. Women's Open champion, lost her lead with three consecutive bogeys from holes 13 through 15 before bouncing back with a birdie at No. 16 to tie Thompson.

She needed an eagle to force a playoff after reaching the green in two and just missed a 45-foot putt to tie and had to settle for a birdie, giving her a 70 and second place at 202.

"The way I'm playing the ShopRite tournament, it's amazing, and I'm pretty satisfied with finishing in second place," Lee6 said through an interpreter.

Ally McDonald, seeking her first career LPGA Tour victory, challenged on the back nine and took third place at 204 following a 70. Two-time ShopRite LPGA champion Anna Nordqvist had a 69 for fourth place at 206.

Mariah Stackhouse, who began the day one stroke off the lead, fell back with a double bogey at the fifth hole and couldn't come back. Her round of 74 left her in a three-way tie for fifth at 207 with Ariya Jutanugarn (68) and Yu Liu (72).

Race to CME Globe

With her win, Thompson earns 500 points and is projected to move from 14th to fourth in the Race to CME Globe with 1,395 points

Prize Money

With her win, Thompson earns $262,500; she has earned $1,002,175 this season and $9,519,473 for her career

CME Group Cares Challengeโ€“ Score 1 for St. Jude

The CME Group Cares Challenge is a season-long charitable giving program that turns aces into donations. CME Group will donate $20,000 for each hole-in-one made on the LPGA Tour in 2019, with a minimum guaranteed donation of $500,000 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Brianna Do recorded an ace during round two of the ShopRite LPGA Classic this week, using an 8-iron from 164-yards at the par-3 No. 11. Do's ace was the 11th of the 2019 LPGA Tour season, raising the year's total donation to $220,000. This is enough to cover more than half of the treatment for a pediatric patient battling lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common form of childhood cancer.

LEADERS Top 10 Competition

The LEADERS Top 10 competition awards a $100,000 bonus to the LPGA player with the most top-10 finishes through the completion of the event held immediately prior to the CME Group Tour Championship. In the event of a tie in total top-10 finishes, the award will go to the player with the most official wins, followed by most second-place finishes, third-place finishes, etc., until the tie is broken.

With top-10 finishes at the ShopRite LPGA Classic , Lexi Thompson (1), Jeongeun Lee6 (2) and Yu Liu (T5) move up into a tie for fifth place with five top-10 finishes this season. Brooke Henderson, Jin Young Ko, Nelly Korda and Azahara Munoz continue to lead the competition with six top-10 finishes this season.
