Two-weeks after missing out in Portland, Mel Reid shot a 5-under 66 on Saturday to take the 54-hole lead of the Shoprite LPGA Classic.

Reid finished fifth in Portland after a final day 2-over 54, having started the day with a two-shot lead.

''Sometimes I get too quick and it kind of makes me quick on my swing. So just take my time tomorrow I think. That is basically what we kind of took away from last week. I was just rushing things a little bit and probably hitting shots I wasn't quite comfortable with. Tomorrow I'm going to take my time a little bit more, and hopefully it makes a bit of a difference.''

Reid was bogey-free on Saturday and eagled the par-5 9th to go 15-under.

''I'm starting to get a little confidence and starting to feel like I can be one of the world's best, so we'll see. Just keep doing what I'm doing and stay humble and hopefully good things will happen.''

Americans Jennifer Kupcho and Jennifer Song both fired 65s to tie for second.

Overnight leader Nasa Hataoka is in fourth place after a 70.

Defending champion Lexi Thompson, who has not had another win since last year's event, is T22 at 6-under after a 68.
