Lowest round records from the four Major Championships – The Masters, The USPGA, The US Open and The Open

The lowest single round score in Major Championship golf is 62 (-8), which was posted by Branden Grace in The Open at Royal Birkdale in 2017 (3rd round). The South African finished sixth.

Eight players have shot nine under par. Gary Player was the first player to achieve that feat at the 1984 USPGA at Shoal Creek (see full list below).

The score of 63 has been achieved 38 times by 35 players, beginning in 1973 with Johnny Miller's sensational final round in the US Open at Oakmont.
