Yealimi Noh held a two-shot lead after a birdie on the 17th but signed for a 71 after a double bogey on the 18th that dropped her back into a share of the lead with Inbee Park and So Yeon Ryu in the Volunteers of America Classic

โ€œAs soon as I finish, I wanted to see the leaderboard and to see that I'm playing with those two tomorrow,โ€ said Noh. โ€œI'm really, really excited. Actually in the beginning of the week I was talking to my parents about Inbee and So Yeon and how I really wanted to play with them and see just how good they are and be right there next to them. So I'm excited for tomorrow.โ€

Ryu, playing her first LPGA event since the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open in February, didn't come in with any real expectations. She started her third round at 2-over for the tournament after opening rounds of 72-72.

โ€œWell, to be honest, was bit of struggle with the ball โ€‘ striking the last two days, but I went to see my coach on Monday. I haven't seen him for nine months and finally got to see him, and he gave me couple of swing thoughts and that one really worked out well today.โ€

She started the third round on the right foot with five birdies in the first nine holes and made one more on the back nine for a bogey-free 65.

โ€œActually, I've been hitting the ball really, really well today, so hopefully I can shoot some low number. And even though I played a few events in Korea, I never really had low scores. So I really wanted to shoot like 8-under, 7-under, so that's what I was looking for. I was expecting little better than 65, but once again, 65 is always good score to have.โ€

โ€œI have no complaints about my ball-striking today. I hit 17 greens, I believe, and then I made so many birdie chances. I wish I could have made more putts on the back nine.โ€

Park, who won in 2013 and 2015 at Las Colinas Country Club, is still adjusting to the change in venue.

โ€œThis golf course, the greens are just so pure. I had a couple of mistakes, you know, greens are just too fast for me. I have been practicing a little bit on the slower green than this, you know, last couple of months. So I'm just trying to still adjust a little bit of speed, but the course is in really good condition. Greens are a little bit softer than last year, but with the cold weather it is playing tough. Once you miss the green, it is really hard to get up and down so you have to hit a lot of greens on this golf course.โ€

She made three birdies and a single bogey for a 69.

โ€œWe took about seven weeks of break after KPMG and coming back here first week just preparing for the U.S. Women's Open, so I'm really happy with my game. I was probably thinking that I am going to be a little bit rusty and just trying to get things going before the Open, and that's what I'm trying to do.โ€
