Reed, who triumphed at Augusta National earlier this year, Stenson, winner of the Race to Dubai in 2013 and 2016, and Westwood, who won the inaugural Race to Dubai in 2009, are the first three participants to be confirmed for the latest edition of the innovative shoot-out contest.

“I had a lot of fun in Scotland last year and I'm looking forward to taking part in another Hero Challenge.," said Reed. "Although I won in 2017, the Challenge has changed a little, so I'm excited to try out the new format.”

Taking place ahead of the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, the Hero Challenge will be held at the Championship's 10 th Anniversary Beach Party at Atlantis, The Palm, as the glamourous resort joins the list of iconic global locations to host the event in 2018.

The winner of the final edition of the Hero Challenge of 2018 will be among illustrious company, joining American Matt Kuchar, who triumphed at historic Edinburgh Castle in Scotland's capital city, and fan favourite Andrew “Beef” Johnston, who lifted the trophy against the stunning backdrop of London's famous business district Canary Wharf.

“I'm looking forward to making my return to the DP World Tour Championship, and the Hero Challenge," said Stenson. "It's a great way to start the final week of the 2018 season, and although it is a fun format, we are all competitive guys and we will all be there to win.”

Reed and Westwood are both aiming to become the first multiple winners of the Hero Challenge following their 2017 victories ahead of the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open and British Masters, respectively, while Stenson also took part in Scotland last year.

“It was great fun to lift the Hero Challenge trophy at Close House ahead of hosting the British Masters last year," said Westwood. "I'm sure it will be a little bit different on the beach in Dubai and I'm looking forward to trying to get my hands on the trophy again.”

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, the season-ending event on the Race to Dubai and the eighth and final Rolex Series tournament of 2018. The Rolex Series is the premium category of tournaments on the European Tour's Race to Dubai, each with a minimum prize fund of US $7million.

Some of the world's best golfers will tee it up on the Earth Course at Jumeriah Golf Estates from November 15-18, including current Race to Dubai leader and 2018 Open Champion Francesco Molinari, 2017 Race to Dubai winner Tommy Fleetwood, three-time Race to Dubai champion Rory McIlroy and defending DP World Tour Championship winner Jon Rahm.
