Dean Burmester started the day two shot behind the lead and closed with a 68 to win the Investec South African Open Championship by three shots after also winning last week’s Joburg Open by the same margin.<\/p>\n

“Back-to-back! I’ve never done that before so that was special.<\/p>\n

“It’s obviously one as a South African that I’ve always wanted to win.<\/p>\n

“To be involved in this tournament and to win it, with a bank that used to sponsor me and got me off the ground when I was just a kid, is super special.<\/p>\n

“So to be the SA Open champion is something I’ll never forget.<\/p>\n

“It’s a tournament I watched growing up and I watched a lot of legends.<\/a>”<\/p>\n

Fellow South African Ryan van Velzen who held a share of the overnight lead ran into trouble with two double bogeys ar the par-3 3rd and the par-4 14th and closed with a 73 for a share of second place at 8-under alongside Italy’s Renato Paratore (70) and Sweden’s Jesper Svensson (71).<\/a><\/p>\n

South African Jayden Schaper who was tied for the overnight lead closed with a 74 and tied for fifth place at 7-under.<\/p>\n
