{"id":1249119,"date":"2024-01-26T03:45:29","date_gmt":"2024-01-26T03:45:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/golftoday.co.uk\/stephan-jaeger-snatches-top-spot-in-san-diego-after-final-hole-eagle\/"},"modified":"2024-01-27T18:13:04","modified_gmt":"2024-01-27T18:13:04","slug":"farmers-insurance-open-2024-r2-stephan-jaeger-snatches-top-spot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/golftoday.co.uk\/farmers-insurance-open-2024-r2-stephan-jaeger-snatches-top-spot\/","title":{"rendered":"Stephan Jaeger snatches top spot in San Diego after final hole eagle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>German Stephan Jaeger jumped 18 spots to take the lead in San Diego after scoring an eagle on the last hole at the Farmers Insurance Open.<\/p>\n<p>Jaeger hit a 64 on the second round of the PGA tournament, finishing the day 12-under par, one stroke ahead of Denmark\u2019s Nicolai Hojgaard.<\/p>\n<p>The German made a 35 foot eagle on the final hole, saying after the day\u2019s play that ending the round like that was \u201cexciting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted it to kind of go middle of the green and I went right at it. It ended up landing just short of the pin and scooting kind of back fringe,\u201d Jaeger said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHad a little downhill right-to-lefter about 35-feet and it ended up curling in. It was awesome to see.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jaeger shot one bogey and seven birdies to go with his eagle.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Highlights | Round 2 | Farmers | 2024\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" bogeys.<\/p>\n<p>Belgian Thomas Detry is tied in third place with France\u2019s Matthieu Pavon, two strokes off the lead.<\/p>\n<div id=\"content_link_1249110\" class=\"ct-div-block
