SEOUL — Despite tricky conditions, Manon De Roey carded a ‘Steady Eddy’ one over to head into the final round of the Aramco Team Series at level par.

The Belgian was disappointed with the lack of birdies, but consistency in these conditions proved a valuable asset.

“Yeah, I mean, today was a pretty boring round, actually. One bogey, no birdies, pretty pretty sad. But, I'm still happy with level par for the tournament. I'll try to make some birdies tomorrow and move up in the leaderboard.”

The wind picked up steadily throughout the morning, with strong gusts playing havoc with club selections.

Despite the tricky conditions, the early starters got the best of the weather, with heavy rain and strong winds expected in the afternoon.

“Today was quite windy, so we played some shots a bit differently. And I feel like you always have to hit up high on the greens, so you don't really know. Like, if you can't see anything, it's sometimes hard to trust the shot.

I had a bit of difficulty with that, so I had some long putts out there. But, overall, I'm still happy.”

With inclement weather looking likely to stay for the afternoon, De Roey sits comfortably in the clubhouse at level par.

Although the Investec SA Women’s Open champion trails by four, there’s a good chance that the deficit could be reduced as play continues.

Leader Hyo-Joo Kim and second place Mariajo Uribe remain on the course as they battle the elements in the second round.

For De Roey, the afternoon is an opportunity to reflect on her performance and prepare for the final day.

“I didn't hit the ball well today, so I'm going to hit some shots on the range for a little bit. Just to get some confidence back. I know I'm not far off, so I'm just going to do my best tomorrow and throw in some birdies.”
