It&#8217;s kind of a core set if you keep it in play, keep it in front of you, you have a lot of wedges, you end up with a lot of looks for birdie and it&#8217;s just one of those days that I saw a ton of putts go in.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m trying to run my own race. I didn&#8217;t start the season the way I wanted to, it was really slow. I&#8217;ve had some tournaments where I&#8217;ve kind of flashed a little bit. I&#8217;m just trying to keep improving my form. I know we still have, including the fall, 10 events or so, so I&#8217;m just trying to run my own race and see where I end up at the end of the year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Coody leads the field in Strokes Gained: Putting (4.230); T1 in Scrambling (6 of 6).<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Highlights | Round 1 | ISCO Championship | 2024\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8F1dZlTPP-g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Fellow rookie Rico Hoey from the Philippies carded a bogey-free 64 featuring an eagle at the par-5 8th for a share of second place at 8-under alongside American <a href=\"https:\/\/golftoday.co.uk\/john-deere-classic-2024-r1-hayden-springer-shoots-59-in-19th-start\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Hayden Springer<\/strong><\/span><\/a> who led after the first round at last week&#8217;s John Deere Classic after carding a 59.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a great day,&#8221; said Hoey. I&#8221; knew the scores were going to be low today<br \/>\nso I wanted to go out and start firing and that&#8217;s what I did so I&#8217;m happy to do that.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The weather was really nice. The wind wasn&#8217;t too crazy, it was swirling a little bit but it was pretty calm out there. Greens were soft enough to where you can go attack and<br \/>\nyeah, conditions were really good.
