Baltusrol to host PGA & Women's PGA Championships

Historic Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey was named Saturday as host of the 2029 PGA Championship, its 10th major men's tournament, and the 2023 Women's PGA Championship.
The famed layout in suburban New York chosen by the PGA of America for the events was designed by A.W. Tillinghast at a club founded in 1895.
Baltusrol most recently hosted a major in 2016 when American Jimmy Walker won his first major at the PGA Championship.
The club also hosted the PGA in 2005, when three-time Masters champion Phil Mickelson took the title, and has hosted seven US Opens, including the 1967 and 1980 editions won by Jack Nicklaus and most recently the 1993 edition won by American Lee Janzen.
The PGA Championship has been typically staged in August as the last major in a year but after this year will move to May in a schedule revamp that puts it second among golf's four annual elite events.
The 2023 Women's PGA Championship will be the third women's major at Baltusrol and the second for the lower course, where Mickey Wright won the 1961 US Women's Open. Fellow American Kathy Baker won the 1985 US Women's Open on the upper course.
