Interest in golf has been buoyant over the past year, especially at Frilford Heath, Oxfordshire’s only golf club to offer 3 x 18-hole Championship courses as well as a 6-hole Par 3 course, state of the art performance centre, golf shop and driving range facilities. Frilford Heath boasts a vibrant and active membership within one of the best and most invested in clubs the county has to offer.
An on-going investment programme has already seen significant investment in staffing, the courses, machinery replacement for course management and improvements in the food and beverage facilities. It will now see a full bunker renovation programme for the Red course, multi-million-pound irrigation project and clubhouse renovation over the next couple of years and beyond.
Following a successful trial, full renovation works will commence in September 2021 to renovate every bunker on the Red course to ensure aesthetically pleasing shapes with Heathland character, improved irrigation, improved presentation, and consistent playing quality. Work will commence on the Red course with completion expected by April 2022. Following on from this, renovation will start on the Green course in Autumn 2022 and on the Blue course in Autumn 2023.
Frilford Heath – Huge investment
In addition to this a £2.5m course irrigation project starts in October 2021. The updated irrigation system is a new network of pipes, sprinklers, heads, and pumps that distribute water from the reservoir to each of the courses. The blue course will be completed this winter with the other two courses following in the years to come.

Membership for 2021 is currently at full capacity but the club welcomes applications to join the growing waiting list for 2022 membership. As a member you will benefit from exclusive access before 1pm on weekends in the summer and all day in the winter on weekends as well as a designated 2-ball course, ensuring members access is fully optimised. In addition, members benefit from discounted room hire as well as a 20% catering discount and 10% shop discount. There’s an active social calendar where members and their families are encouraged to take part as well as a comprehensive and inclusive competition calendar.
