Jamie Donaldson's birdie-birdie finish to tie for 10th in the Irish Open moved him to No. 60 in the world and spared him from qualifying for the U.S. Open.

The U.S. Open field for Oakmont on June 16-19 now is half-filled after 27 players earned exemptions from being in the top 60 this week. Sergio Garcia, at No. 12 after winning the AT&T Byron Nelson, was among the 27 players in the top 60 of this week's world ranking who weren't already eligible.

The 156-man field has 78 exempt players. Another exemption is available this week to the winner of the BMW PGA Championship. The rest of the field will be determined by 36-hole qualifiers in Japan, England and America, and by the top 60 in the June 13 world ranking.
