October 22-25
Reynolds Lake Oconee, Great Waters Course, Greensboro, Georgia
$1,300,000
Round 1, Round 2, Round 3

Ally McDonald's 28th birthday present to herself this year was a first title on the LPGA with her victory at Reynolds Lake Oconee. She played a final round 69 for a 16-under, 272 total to beat Danielle Kang by one shot.

โ€œI've never doubted my ability, but I've definitely questioned whether I would be able to win out here. It's really hard to win out here. So I've just really hung in there and tried to stick to my process since day one. That was able to get me in the winner's circle today. I'm really thankful.โ€

She started the day with a one shot lead over rookie Bianca Pagdanganan, two ahead of Kang, and made birdie on the 4th hole then parred the rest of the front nine while Kang made two pars but also bogeyed the par-4 fifth and made the turn two shots back.

McDonald made three straight birdies from the 10th and another one on the 16th but a pair of bogeys meant victory was not assured.

It came down to the final hole where Kang had a chance at eagle but just missed the cup while McDonald's par putt dropped.

โ€œIt's very fulfilling for me to finally get that victory. I won't say over the hump or anything like that because it's really hard to win out here. I'm just going to continue working really hard and try to even get No. 2 after this one. But I'll definitely soak this in. I'm just really grateful and blessed that I play on the LPGA Tour and am able to do what I love to do every single day.โ€

Kang is currently ranked fifth in the world and a win on Sunday would have been her third this season, the second at a โ€œDrive Onโ€ event.

โ€œI think I just need to take a few days off right now. My back has went into a spasm a few days ago. So it was a little difficult this week to play with it. I think I'm very proud of how I played despite not having my full game, but Ally played wonderfully and it's been a really great week,โ€ said Kang.

Pagdanganan parred the first 16 holes and closed with two birdies to finish at 14-under in solo third.

Ariya Jutanugarn and Katherine Kirk recorded their best results of the season with a tie for sixth at 11-under.
