Bernd Wiesberger fired his lowest round of the season so far to take a one shot lead into the final day of the Made in Denmark presented by FREJA.

“A lot of positive things, I started where I left off yesterday. I was very much in control of my ball, I hit a lot of good shots. Actually had a lot of chances out there, unfortunately just a couple of hiccups cost me. All in all it was a solid day, a good moving day for me."

The Austrian missed seven months with a wrist injury last year but has played 12 events so far on the 2019 Race to Dubai and looks to be rediscovering the game that brought him four European Tour wins.

A third round 67 at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort moved him to nine under par, a shot clear of Scotland's Robert MacIntyre and in pole position to claim his first victory since the Shenzhen International in 2017.

“I like the way that the course opens up, had a lot of chances, was driving the ball nicely. I had a good look at it on 11, coming after two bogeys.

“I hit a really good wedge on 12 and on 13, which is a tough wedge, it was a little bit of a guess shot and it almost went in. I just hit it past the flag and up and down on the driveable 14th. A little bit disappointed to finish with a bogey but all in all it was a solid day's work.

“I feel like I'm in control of what I'm doing, I'm not trying to get ahead of myself, I'll just stick to my processes, stick to what I've been doing well the last couple of days.”

A round of 68 for European Challenge Tour graduate MacIntyre took him to eight under par and he heads into Sunday in his best 54 hole position in 15 events on the European Tour.

“I just hung in there early on, just battled away. The short game was really good and I took my chances on the par fives. I managed to get up in two on the 11th hole, which was a bonus, took the edge off the wedge.

“Driving was difficult, I struggled a bit with the right to left wind today. It's exactly the same as my amateur days. You can't hit all the greens, the wind is beating you so you've just got the head down trying to get up and down from everywhere. It feels like home."

Germany's Max Schmitt and Austrian Matthias Schwab are at seven under par, a shot clear of Frenchman Romain Langasque, Spaniard Pablo Larrazábal and England's Oliver Wilson.

“I was a little bit nervous in the beginning and made a few mistakes. I was three over (for the day) at one point and got it back to one over, which was a nice way to keep it together and still be in it for tomorrow. -Matthias Schwab

“The birdies on 14 and 15 were very important, 14 was an easy birdie and 15 was a good putt. I had a good look on 17 and 18 so it could have been a little better but I'm not too unhappy with how I ended the round.

“Today was a really good test for me. First time being in the lead in the last group. Tomorrow the press will be off me not being in the lead so I can just go out and do my thing and hopefully do well.”

Spain's Alejandro Cañizares, Irishman Paul Dunne and England's Matthew Southgate are four shots off the lead at five under par.
