The famous tournament will be held at London Golf Club for the first time in its history since John Burton lifted the trophy in 1957. For its 60th anniversary, it returns under the new title sponsorship of Staysure, who also became the umbrella sponsors of the European Senior Tour at the beginning of 2018.

A star-studded field which includes victorious Ryder Cup captains, Staysure Tour Order of Merit winners and Senior Major champions will all be teeing it up once the action gets under way on August 2. The field of 90 players, which will include a number of PGA Professionals, will compete for the £400,000 prize fund with the winner taking home a cheque for £60,000.

Part of the exciting field is Australian Peter Fowler who won the coveted trophy in 2015 after rounds of 68-67-67-70 to win by three shots ahead of Gordon Manson. A victory for Fowler in a month’s time will see him become the eighth player to win back-to-back Staysure PGA Seniors titles, a feat accomplished most recently by Paul Wesselingh when he defended his 2012 triumph.

With excitement building, Stephen Follet, Chief Executive of London Golf Club, said: “The team at London Golf Club has been working hard to prepare not only the International Course, but all aspects related to the tournament hospitality as we pride ourselves on our ability to offer members and guests unrivalled level of service and attention to detail.

“The event has been promoted both nationally and internationally, so we look forward to hosting everyone at the Club in August.”

Ahead of their first event as title sponsors, Ryan Howsam, Chairman of Staysure, said: “I and the rest of the team are extremely excited that the Staysure Tour’s flagship event is now only a month away.

“The event will enjoy a high calibre professional field with Colin Montgomerie, Paul McGinley and the new KitchenAid Senior PGA Champion Paul Broadhurst to name but three of the stars, and we are delighted to be bringing the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship back to the schedule.”

Entry to the tournament is free of charge, with a £10 daily car parking charge in aid of charity.
