Round 4 - Wang Jeung-hun wins first European Tour title

May 9, 2016

Wang Jeung-hun of South Korea won his first title on the European Tour after beating Nacho Elvira in a playoff at the second extra hole in the Trophee Hassan on Sunday.

Wang produced three clutch putts on the 18th green, the first from 18 feet on the 72nd hole to force a playoff with the Spaniard. Wang (70) and Elvira (69) finished on 5-under 283.

The South Korean rolled in a 50-foot putt on the first extra hole to match Elvira's birdie, and they played No. 18 again. Wang then converted a 20-foot birdie putt for the win.

Robert Rock of England and Clement Berardo of France were a shot behind on 4 under. Overnight leader Chris Hanson shot a 3-over 75 and was tied for fifth.

Round 3 - Chris Hanson moves one ahead

May 8, 2016

Britain's Chris Hanson earned a one-shot lead at the Trophee Hassan II with a 5-under 67 in the third round on Saturday to move to 6-under par overall.

Hanson, who has never finished higher than 39th on the European Tour, carded five birdies and an eagle against two bogeys at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.

Hanson led countryman David Dixon (67) and Frenchman Clement Berardo (68), who were tied for second.

Overnight leader Francesco Laporta, ranked No. 787, ended the third round in a seven-way tie for sixth place on 2 under after five bogeys and a double bogey.

Round 2 - Francesco Laporta edges ahead

May 7, 2016

European Tour rookie Francesco Laporta opened a one-shot lead at the Trophee Hassan II with a 2-under 70 in the second round on Friday to move to 6-under par overall.

Italy's Laporta, ranked No. 787, made a bogey and double-bogey in successive holes in his opening nine, but held it together coming home to go into the weekend with a slim advantage at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.

Australian Jason Scrivener, part of a three-way tie for the lead alongside Laporta and Thomas Linard overnight, carded 71 to slip into a tie for second. Scrivener is alongside Spain's Borja Virto Astudillo (70) and South Korea's Wang Jeunghun (68) on 5 under.

Frenchman Linard ended the second round in a tie for 35th after eight bogeys and a double-bogey.

Round 1 - Trio top first day leaderboard

May 6, 2016

Francesco Laporta of Italy, Thomas Linard of France and Jason Scrivener of Australia shot a 4-under 68 to share the lead on the first day of the Trophee Hassan II on Thursday.

Five players, including Younes El Hassani of Morocco, were a shot behind on a day of tough conditions on the Red Course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.

Scrivener made five birdies to continue his good form in his second year on the European Tour, where he has missed just one cut in nine events.

Linard hit an eagle on No. 12, his third hole, and rolled in five birdies to make an impressive start to his 14th tour event.

Laporta, who is in his first season on tour, made up for two bogeys in his first three holes with four birdies and an eagle - also on No. 12.
