Joaquin Niemann has won yet again. This comes as no surprise given the LIV Golf UK victory is his fifth of an already lucrative season.

The Chilean claimed wins in Adelaide, Singapore, Mexico, Virginia and now the UK to lead the individual standings by an impressive 37 points heading into the final two events of the season.

Niemann may have drawn plenty of criticism for his underwhelming display in the major championships this year. But there is no doubting his class.

Despite these performances in the LIV Golf League, he finished T29 at the Masters, T8 at the PGA Championship, while missing the cut at both the US Open and the Open.

According to the Official World Golf Rankings, Niemann is ranked way down in 94 position. Alternative ranking system, Data Golf Rankings, however, has the Chilean at 19th when judged by their own measurements.

He even axed his caddie and coach on the eve of the tournament, although this clearly didn’t prove much of a hindrance.

Joaquin Niemann was impressive once again

Rounds of 63 and 65 had the South American clear at the top of the leaderboard heading into Sunday.

A final day charge from Bubba Watson meant Niemann didn’t have it all his on way, but he eventually finished three shots clear.

“Today I was pretty calm, pretty chill, until Bubba started playing golf,” Niemann said.

“He made it tough me for, I was feeling the pressure.

“It was a pretty crazy week. There was a lot of different emotions, especially after today. But, going back to the first day, it was the first time working with my new caddie Diego (Salinas), and to be honest I was feeling nervous about how everything was going to work.

“I was pretty nervous at the beginning, but it worked out pretty well in the first two days, the scores were there which is always nice to see.

”I was trying to stay positive and calm myself in the morning. But, I really enjoyed being in the UK and everything that I did.”

There are now just two individual events left of the season. Next up is Chicago, before the league travels to Indianapolis, where the champion will be crowned.

Niemann finished behind Jon Rahm last year. Unless the Spaniard can outperform the 26-year-old in the final two events, he will lose his crown as the king of LIV Golf.
