Baycurrent Classic

American Max Greyserman, who finished runner-up last year, made five birdies and one bogey for a 4-under 67 to take a share of the lead at the Baycurrent Classic.

“It was a solid round. Very, very difficult conditions, very windy. Front’s pretty gettable, back nine’s a lot tougher, especially the finishing holes. I think overall I played nice, played pretty good. Just keep doing what I’m doing. Very happy with how today went. Obviously could have always been better, but in those difficult conditions I’ll take that any day,” said Greyserman.

“I really like the golf course. It’s different than last year’s golf course. Last year it was a more straightforward test, kind of narrow, can you put the ball in play, can you put it on the green, kind of flat greens, and this golf course is very much like maybe Northeast golf, lot of slope on the golf course, around the greens, on the greens. So a lot of runoffs, a lot of runoffs, bunkers, fairway runoffs. I enjoy playing that style of golf maybe like a Pinehurst No. 2 type of golf where everything’s shaved around the greens. I think it’s maybe more fun to play and there’s more creativity. It’s kind of like linksy golf around the greens a little bit. Yeah, it’s a fun test, a different test. I think it might be one of the best courses we play all year to be honest.”

He holds his second 18-hole lead/co-lead on the PGA Tour and is 0-for-1 in converting to victory (2024 Puerto Rico Open/T15).

Greyserman has had four runner-up finishes in 53 starts (others: 2024 3M Open, 2024 Wyndham Championship, 2025 Rocket Classic).

Bud Cauley stayed bogey-free for his share of the lead while fellow American Brian Campbell made an eagle at the par-4 8th and three bogeys for their share of the lead.

Cauley leads the field in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green (5.894). He holds his third 18-hole lead/co-lead and is 0-for-2 converting to victory (2012 RSM Classic/T20, 2017 RBC Heritage/T9).

He is making his first start since finishing No. 47 in the 2025 FedExCup Playoffs at the BMW Championship having had four top-10 finishes in 20 starts this season (T6/The Players Championship, T4/Valspar Championship, T5/Valero Texas Open, 3rd/Charles Schwab Challenge).

Campbell holds his first 18-hole lead/co-lead. He is a two-time PGA Tour winner this season (Mexico Open at VidantaWorld, John Deere Classic).

Denmark’s Nicolai Højgaard fired six birdies, one bogey and one double bogey at the par-4 11th for a 68 and a share of fourth place at 3-under alongside seven other players.

Defending champion Nico Echavarria of Colombia made four birdies and three bogeys for a 70 and lies in T19 at 1-under.

FedExCup Fall Notes

The 2025 Baycurrent Classic is the third of the FedExCup Fall, a group of seven tournaments played after the Tour Championship that finalizes eligibility for the 2026 PGA Tour Season.

Winners of events during the FedExCup Fall receive the similar benefits of winners of Full-Field Events during the Regular Season, including 500 FedExCup points, Official World Golf Ranking points, a two-year PGA Tour exemption (exempt thru 2026) and invitations to The Sentry, the Players Championship and PGA Championship.

The Aon Next 10 is an eligibility pathway that awards access into Signature Events (outside of The Sentry), recognizing the top 10 players, not otherwise exempt, from the FedExCup standings; Nos. 51-60 in the final FedExCup Fall standings at the conclusion of The RSM Classic will serve as the Aon Next 10 for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational.
