The Sadaat Faruqui Story

I am a Canada-based entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in consumer goods and international business.

For the last decade, I’ve been building and scaling Aaron Leather Goods, taking the brand to the next level and refining products and processes every year.

My work emphasizes quality, ethical practices, and long-term value creation.

My Journey

My international business experience across North America, the Middle East, and South Asia has shaped how I approach strategy and execution.

Moving to Canada in 2019 allowed me to combine global insights with local entrepreneurship, always aiming for quality, integrity, and lasting impact.

What was the genesis for Aaron Leather Goods?

Aaron Leather Goods didn’t begin with golf in mind. It started with a simple focus on making leather goods the right way—paying attention to materials, construction, and longevity.

Over time, as the brand evolved, it became clear that those values naturally aligned with sport, especially golf.

In what specific ways do your efforts distinguish themselves from others in the same category?

We don’t design for trends or seasons.

Our approach is rooted in craftsmanship and restraint—making pieces that feel considered and personal, and that get better with use.

That mindset allows us to move into golf and other sports without forcing the fit.

How would you assess the vibrancy of the golf industry in the year ahead when compared to 2025?

Golf feels culturally healthier than it has in a long time. The game is expanding beyond the course and attracting a more design- and lifestyle-aware audience. That shift feels real and not temporary.

What makes being involved with the golf industry so important to Aaron Leather Goods?

Golf carries a sense of discipline and respect for process that mirrors how we work. While we weren’t founded as a golf brand, the connection feels instinctive—almost inherited. It’s something we genuinely want to be part of.

Who is your customer?

Our customer cares about quality and intention. They’re thoughtful in how they buy, value fewer but better things, and see sport as part of a broader lifestyle rather than a single activity.

Do endorsements from leading figures in professional golf matter and do you have plans to engage any with that in mind?

Endorsements matter only when they’re genuine. We’re more interested in real usage and long-term alignment than headline names. Any partnerships would grow organically from that.

If you could change one thing in golf unilaterally—what would it be and why?

I’d remove the unnecessary intimidation around getting into the game.

Golf can be welcoming without losing its traditions. The two don’t have to compete.

Define your approach to customer service and feedback.

Customer service is part of the product. We pay close attention to feedback and respond directly, not through layers. It keeps us honest and sharp.

Biggest challenges short and long term—and your strategic responses?

Short term, it’s entering sport thoughtfully without moving too fast. Long term, it’s protecting the brand’s integrity as it grows.

The answer to both is discipline—knowing when to say no.

Best advice you ever received—what was it and who was it from?

“Make things you’d still stand behind years from now.” It came from an early mentor and has stayed with me.
